Worcester, MA – The weather is unseasonably warm, the flowers are starting to bloom and the beautiful game is in full swing. Spring came early this year for the Worcester Hydra as the team held its second tryout on March 10 at Alumni Field located at Becker College (Leicester campus).
More than 100 players officially registered for the tryout in hopes of earning a spot on the Hydra roster for its inaugural season in the USL Premier Development League.
Head coach Elvis Comrie was in attendance to evaluate the field of players and choose which ones he thought were fit to be invited to training camp. The participants took part in various drills and scrimmages throughout the afternoon. Approximately 20 players will be invited to the the Hydra’s official training camp which begins March 25.
“The turnout was really great and we were able to identify some talented players,” said Dmitri Strunkin, managing director of the Hydra. “We look forward to a great training camp where players will compete for a spot on the team.”
